PPF Calculator Excel — 15 Year Projection

Quick Answer

PPF Excel templates calculate maturity value using compound interest but cannot model PPF-specific rules like the 7-year partial withdrawal lock-in, loan eligibility in years 3–6, and 5-year block extensions after maturity. CalcCrack PPF Calculator handles all PPF rules correctly in the browser.

Why use CalcCrack instead of an Excel template

  • Current PPF rate (7.1%) pre-loaded — no manual entry needed
  • Full 15-year year-by-year projection of opening balance, interest, and closing balance
  • Partial withdrawal eligibility — shows when and how much you can withdraw (from year 7)
  • Loan eligibility calculation for years 3–6
  • Extension block calculation — what happens if you extend for 5 more years after maturity

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the current PPF interest rate?+
The PPF interest rate for Q1 FY 2025-26 is 7.1% per annum, compounded annually. The rate is set by the government each quarter and has been at 7.1% for several years.
How is PPF interest calculated?+
PPF interest is calculated on the minimum balance between the 5th and last day of each month. Deposits before the 5th of a month earn interest for that month. The formula: annual interest = sum of monthly minimum balances × 7.1% / 12.
Can I withdraw from PPF before 15 years?+
Partial withdrawals are allowed from the 7th year onwards, up to 50% of the balance at the end of the 4th year or the preceding year, whichever is lower. Full closure before 15 years is not allowed except for specific medical or education reasons.
What happens to PPF after 15 years?+
After maturity, you can withdraw the full amount, extend for 5-year blocks without deposits (earning interest on corpus), or extend with continued deposits. Extensions can be made indefinitely in 5-year blocks.
